Annual Stampede Dance on July 15, 2023

Our annual Stampede Dance was on Saturday, July 15, 2023.  The evening was enjoyed by all. Dancing that night was followed with strawberries and ice cream!

Graduation Time
In the hall on Monday nights, A group of dancers took to flight.
Their feet were tapping in surprising time, They all worked hard to learn each rhyme.
For eight long months they persevered, Through stumbles and fears they ever so neared.
The end of the Mainstream dance program, With the courage to dance and enjoy the jam.
But let's not forget the little mishaps, The twirls that turned into snares and traps.
The times they lost their steps and their count, Making our grins and smiles to mount.
Go left, go right, what do I do, Stick out a right, no left, oh poo!
I know it was one of them but which of the two, I know -- I'll use both and let them choose.
Yes, their journey was full of bumps and sways, But they never gave up, to our amaze.
We'll miss their awkward moves and spins, And the way they giggled at their own sins.
In each dance, they had their guides, Square angels, always by their sides.
With gentle nudges and patient smiles, They helped them go the extra miles.
And if we pushed and shoved them along, It was only to keep them in time with the song.
To help them find their rhythm and pace, So they could dance with poise and grace.
So here's to the Queens and Jacks new class,  Who worked hard and earned their Mainstream pass.
With square angels and their guidance too, They danced their hearts out and saw it through.
So here's to the couples who worked in sync, Who dared to learn, and never shrink.
We celebrate their graduation night, With joy and fun, and a round of delight.
We hope they'll come back to our friendly club, And show us those moves they previously snubbed.
With their perseverance and bravery so true, We can't wait to dance with this awesome crew!
We hope they'll come back to our little hall, As square angels, standing tall.
Guiding new dancers with their care, Sharing their knowledge, and humour to spare.
So dance on, graduates, with earned pride, With memories of your time at our side.
We'll see you next season, with open arms, As square angels, now it’s your turn to charm.
